ONCAT Funding Opportunity for Ontario Colleges, Universities and Indigenous Institutes for MyCreds™

The Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer (ONCAT) is providing funding to support Ontario postsecondary institutions onboard digitized transcripts to MyCreds™ to support infrastructure improvements necessary to enhance seamless transfer goals. This funding will be available to Ontario institutions that will be or are in the process of onboarding to MyCreds™ and that have already onboarded and need to expand their capacities.

For institutions joining MyCreds™, ONCAT will help cover costs directly related to the institution pursuing implementation that involves establishing Single Sign On and API connections between local Student Information Systems, supporting the development of transcript digitization capacity through MyCreds™.

For institutions that have already onboarded to MyCreds™ but only partially implemented transcript sharing capacities, ONCAT may provide additional funding to support personnel time and other costs to expand the development of transcript digitization capacity through MyCreds™.

What is ONCAT?

Established in 2011, the Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer (ONCAT) was created to enhance academic pathways and reduce barriers for students looking to transfer among Ontario’s public colleges and universities, and Indigenous Institutes. Alongside its members and stakeholders, ONCAT does this by:

Supporting projects aimed at creating and expanding credit transfer pathways and improving our understanding of student mobility and the student transfer experience;
Engaging Ontario’s regions and communities through facilitated groups;
Collecting credit transfer data and sharing resources;
Hosting events that bring together credit transfer experts from across the province; and,
Connecting students to transfer opportunities through ONTransfer.ca.

ONCAT’s work is to support the development of a transfer system that is easy to navigate and seamless for students. To achieve this, they focus on different funding strategies to improve the system. They work directly with its many stakeholders to support not only research that improves transfer system planning, but also pathway development projects and institutional processes that meet the needs of students.

Postsecondary Education in Ontario

Ontario is home to an internationally respected postsecondary education system with 21 publicly assisted universities and 24 publicly assisted colleges, and 9 Indigenous Institutes. Main and satellite campuses provide learning opportunities in every region of the province. Two of the colleges and nine of the universities offer programs in the French language. Private career colleges also offer vocational training in many communities.
