ARUCC MyCreds™️ Reaching Higher Newsletter Summer 2022

Welcome to the Summer 2022 edition of the ARUCC MyCreds™️ Reaching Higher newsletter.

MyCreds™️ is seeing rapid adoption by institutions and receiving organizations across the country. To date, more than 30 institutions and 40 receiving organizations have onboarded to MyCreds™️ and over 300,000 learners have been provisioned with their very own virtual credential wallets, expanding the international participation in the Network to well over 3M organizations, institutions and learners.

Join us at the ARUCC Conference where ARUCC will be hosting two panels of current MyCreds™ institutions as they discuss the ROI and benefits of the platform as well as their implementation experience at 2:10pm ET on Tuesday, June 21 and 11:35am ET on Wednesday, June 22. New this Quarter

MacEwan University

MacEwan University joined MyCreds™ in February 2022 and is utilizing the platform to issue transcripts for undergraduate and continuing education students. More documents will be phased in over time including parchments and badges. MacEwan will also be leveraging MyCreds™ as a means to receive inbound documents from learners to support and streamline the admissions process. Read MacEwan’s press release announcement here.

Lethbridge College

Lethbridge College became the latest Alberta post-secondary institution to join the National Network in March 2022. This transition is part of Lethbridge College’s ongoing commitment to embracing digital solutions and adopting sustainable practices. Lethbridge College will discontinue issuing paper transcripts and instead securely issue verified digital transcripts to students and alumni via MyCreds™. Sheridan College

Sheridan launched MyCreds™ in June 2022. Sheridan’s partnership with MyCreds™ begins with digital transcript requests, and the college will later expand the virtual credential wallet functionality to support requests for enrolment letters and more. Read Sheridan’s press release announcement here.

Memorial University of Newfoundland

With the launch of Memorial University in June 2022, the MyCreds™ National Network now covers all public post-secondary institutions in Newfoundland and Labrador. This will allow learners across the province to share their academic records easily and quickly as they pursue their education and career goals. Read Memorial’s press release announcement here.

Royal Roads University

Royal Roads University joined MyCreds™ in June, becoming the first post-secondary institution in British Columbia to issue documents through MyCreds™. Royal Roads begins with providing digital confirmation of graduation letters via the platform. More digital documents will be added over time including transcripts, confirmation of enrolment letters and parchments.

Micro-credentials Virtual Skills Passport Pilot Project for Ontario Post-Secondary Institutions

ARUCC is delighted to be advancing the micro-credentials Virtual Skills Passport Pilot Project. Through this initiative, institutions will be adopting or expanding their use of ARUCC’s MyCreds™ to issue digital micro-credentials in a new way – one that leverages emerging technology and digitization principles focused on interoperability and enhanced Verifiable Credentials capacity. This will result in greater learner convenience and control enabling increased flexibility, security, and private sharing. The new feature will equip learners with a third sharing option via MyCreds™. ARUCC thanks the Government of Ontario for its funding support for this project. Modern Campus Partners with ARUCC’s MyCreds™ to Enhance System Interoperability with Destiny One

ARUCC and Modern Campus, the higher education industry’s leading modern learner engagement platform, have announced a partnership that will enhance interoperability between Modern Campus Destiny One—the most-used student information system for continuing and workforce education—and the MyCreds™ National Network. As part of this collaboration, Modern Campus will be building an API connector with MyCreds™, to launch in November 2022, enabling institutions on the MyCreds™ platform full interoperability for badges with their Modern Campus Destiny One local environments. Supporting Canada’s Indigenous Institutes and universities

MyCreds™️ is pleased to be supporting First Nations University of Canada (Saskatchewan) and soon Oshki-Pimache-O-Win: The WenJack Education Institute (Ontario) in providing digital badges for their learners via MyCreds™️ virtual wallets. Badges and micro-credentials provide assessed evidence of focused achievement and can reflect a variety of learning experiences. This type of credential is instrumental in supporting rapid learner access to employment or further education.

Receivers on the Network

A receiver campaign is ongoing with the objective to raise awareness about MyCreds™️ among key organizations, accrediting bodies, embassies, and government across Canada and around the world. Currently, 40+ organizations are now receiving members of MyCreds™️. By expanding the Network in this way, students are able to share their documents directly to organizations through the platform, ensuring more efficient, secure, and immediate access. ARUCC has secured the Sheraton on the Falls Hotel in Niagara Falls, ON for June 19-22, 2022 for its 2022 Conference, Thriving in a time of Disruption. The ARUCC Conference will be delivered in a hybrid format. Guests have to option to attend in person in Niagara Falls or attend virtually.

11th Groningen Declaration Network Annual Meeting

Registration is now open for the 11th Groningen Declaration Network Annual Meeting. The GDN Annual Meeting is returning to its birthplace a decade ago and this important celebratory event is not to be missed. Under the broad themes of learner centricity, interoperability and life-long learning, speakers and presenters from around the world will present on the innovations, challenges, collaborations and technologies supporting digital learner mobility. The program agenda will be released shortly.

The event is a hybrid event which means participants can register to attend in person or as a virtual attendee.
