At MyCreds™, we’ve had an incredible year of growth and success, with 1 million current learners and graduates in Canada reaping the benefits of our innovative platform. In addition: 

  • 64 Canadian post-secondary institutions (PSI) have joined the MyCreds™ network. 
  • With 1 million learner wallets provisioned, more students are embracing the convenience and security of digital credentials. 
  • Over 1.5 million documents and 19.4k badges have been issued through our platform, making the verification process seamless for learners, post-secondary institutions and employers alike.

Governance Update

We want to keep you informed about recent changes in the governance groups of MyCreds™. We’re proud to introduce new individuals who play critical roles in leading our organization: 

  • MyCreds™ Registrars’ Advisory Committee – Co-chaired by ARUCC MyCreds™ Project Board Director Romesh Vadivel, Associate Director, Faculty of Arts Office of Advising and Student Information Services (OASIS), McGill University and James D’Arcy, Registrar, Executive Director SEM and Registrar at University of Regina
  • Integrated Working Group (IWG) – now co-chaired by Doug Holmes, Manager, eTranscripts Ontario Universities’ Application Centre

Verifications to Support the Hague Apostille Convention

Canada will be joining the Hague Apostille Convention, Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (the Convention), on January 11th, 2024. Historically, and up to January 11th, 2024, students or graduates working, studying, or doing business abroad would need to notarize and legalize their documents at a consulate or embassy. MyCreds™ is well positioned to support this process. If your provincial government is interested in receiving documents from the network to ease administrative burdens, please have them contact us by emailing info@aruccnationalnetwork.ca.

Once Canada joins the Hague Convention, the Ontario government will be accepting documents submitted through MyCreds™ as an official way to meet the verification requirements effective January 11th, 2024. Students or graduates will be able to authenticate their degrees, diplomas and transcripts for use abroad at Ontario Document Services (ODS) using MyCreds™ saving them time and money. Information and changes impacting document authentication, a list of eligible documents, and how to access authentication services in Ontario can be found on the Ontario government website.

ONCAT is once again providing funding to support Ontario post-secondary institutions to onboard to MyCreds™. Take advantage of this great opportunity to become part of MyCreds™.

Groningen Declaration Network 13th Annual Meeting, October 2024

Keep watch for the October 2024 Annual Meeting.

The genesis of MyCreds™ stemmed from the Groningen Declaration Network (GDN). Each year, stakeholder representatives from over 100 organizations who take part in the Groningen Declaration Network, gather at the GDN Annual Meeting to share, learn and lead discussions on developing capabilities, policies and technical platforms to improve data exchange as a support to citizen and learner mobility.
