Trust Matters to MyCreds

Becoming a Network Member

ARUCC, the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada, owns MyCreds, which is a trusted network of recognized institutions and organizations. Membership is not automatic.
  1. Organizations apply for membership
  2. ARUCC approves the organization to become a member of ARUCC
  3. MyCreds verifies member for inclusion in the National Network
  4. The organization is verified through our MyCreds Member Trust Registry.
After that, approved members are onboarded.
Why Digital Credentials?
Documents issued digitally through MyCreds are authentic, tamper-evident and legally valid. Learner documents in the MyCreds web/digital wallet contain digital signatures that meet the legal requirements of certified digital documents in countries around the world. A digital document transcript, badge or credential received from MyCreds is official and comes directly from the original issuing organization.

  • Unauthorized parties are prevented from accessing credentials without learner permission
  • Federal and provincial data protection laws are observed
  • Institutional policies that mandate learner consent are observed
  • Trust through transparency in how information is shared, and empowers credential holders to manage access to their own data

MyCreds Governance

MyCreds® | MesCertif® is owned by its member institutions and governed through a sector-led model designed to support national collaboration, transparency, and responsible stewardship. As a pan-Canadian network built by and for the higher education community, MyCreds ensures that member voices shape the platform’s evolution and strategic direction.

Our governance structure includes three advisory bodies that provide insight, guidance, and feedback to ARUCC, the governing body responsible for final decision-making.

MyCreds Advisory Sub-Committee

The voice of the institutions using MyCreds.

Composed of registrars and higher-education professionals from member institutions, this group represents the day-to-day needs of issuers and receivers. It ensures the platform evolves in alignment with operational realities, learner needs, and institutional priorities.

Feedback flows to the ARUCC Board.

MyCreds External Advisory Group

Strategic insight from industry experts.

This group brings perspectives from digital identity, technology, workforce development, and global credentialing trends. It informs long-term strategy, innovation opportunities, and the broader ecosystem in which MyCreds operates.

Feedback flows directly to the ARUCC Board.

MyCreds Technical Advisory Sub-Committee

Guidance on technical design, scalability, and performance.

Made up of technical experts from the sector and platform operations, this group advises on architecture, integrations, standards, and system performance to ensure the platform remains robust, scalable, and future-ready.

Feedback flows to the MyCreds Advisory Sub-Committee.

A Governance Model Built for Responsiveness and Transparency

Together, these advisory groups provide operational, strategic, and technical perspectives that support strong governance and continuous improvement. Their input is synthesized by the Executive Director and provided to the ARUCC Board, ensuring informed decision-making and a governance process rooted in sector leadership.
