University of Regina joins MyCreds™ | MesCertif™ providing virtual credential wallets for their students

The University of Regina is the first Saskatchewan post-secondary institute to join MyCreds™ | MesCertif™, a digital credential wallet developed by the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC).

“MyCreds^TM | MesCertif^TM modernizes and brings efficiencies and convenience to students from what, until now, has been a paper-based process,” said James D’Arcy, University of Regina Registrar. “Students and recent graduates are able to send their official, digitized transcripts and other documents electronically anywhere and anytime to whomever they want.”

Effective immediately all current and former University of Regina students can access their transcripts and Spring 2021 graduates will have their digitized credentials available upon graduation in June. Other official documents will be phased in over time. All student data will remain under the control of the U of R and this information can only be accessed by the U of R, the student, and whomever they share their documents with.

“The University of Regina is excited to be able to support our students by providing them with control over their own credentials and documents that are secure, tamper evident and legally valid,” said D’Arcy. “All documents will be available in one secure location to access and share seamlessly. The U of R also recognizes the value provided to our graduates in the issuance of a paper parchment and this will continue with the added benefits of a digital credential they may access free of charge.”

All certified documents carry a digital signature that meets or exceeds all legal national and international standards. An authentic document will always have a blue-ribbon symbol which validates that the document has not been altered after it has been downloaded. If a document has been altered or if the digital signature is not authentic, a symbol with a red cross will signify the document is not valid.
