ARUCC MyCreds|MesCertif Welcomes ApplyAlberta as Receiver on National Digital Credential Network
Calgary, [28/11/2024] – ARUCC MyCreds|MesCertif is thrilled to announce a landmark collaboration with the Alberta Post-Secondary Application System (APAS) Society (who oversee and administer the ApplyAlberta centralized application system for most undergraduate programs for all of the publicly funded institutions in Alberta), marking a significant milestone in the evolution of digital credentialing in Canada. ApplyAlberta has officially joined the ARUCC MyCreds|MesCertif network as an integrated Receiver, further strengthening the commitment to enhancing learner mobility and enabling learner consent in the sharing of academic credentials.
This exciting development underscores ARUCC MyCreds|MesCertif’s dedication to fostering innovation and collaboration within the post-secondary education sector. By integrating ApplyAlberta as a Receiver into the national digital credential network, ARUCC is setting a new standard for how educational credentials are managed, shared, and verified.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome ApplyAlberta as an official receiver within the national digital credential network,” said Jodi Tavares, Executive Director at ARUCC MyCreds| MesCertif. “ARUCC has a long-standing history of collaboration to support learner mobility, and we’re happy to work with an outstanding provincial hub like ApplyAlberta in this way. Welcoming ApplyAlberta as an official Receiver demonstrates our commitment to learner agency – a credential holder’s ability to decide where they share their information is a tenet of our work. We look forward to continuing work with ApplyAlberta to drive meaningful change and enhance the educational experience for students and institutions alike.”
With the Government of Saskatchewan integrating with the ARUCC MyCreds|MesCertif national network for disbursement of Saskatchewan High School transcripts in September 2024, APAS collaborated with ARUCC to streamline transcript exchange for Saskatchewan High School students applying to Alberta Post-secondary Institutions. Through this integration, APAS is further enhancing ApplyAlberta’s transcript exchange capabilities ensuring that transcript information is received by its members in an integrated manner to support admissions. APAS joins institutions across Alberta and the rest of Canada with an integrated receiver portal. This integration simplifies the sharing process, placing learner consent at the forefront. All these efforts will reduce administrative burdens, and ensuring academic achievements are accurately and securely recognized.
“Joining the ARUCC MyCreds|MesCertif network represents a significant step forward for ApplyAlberta,” said Ryan Gallivan, Executive Director of APAS. “We are eager to contribute to this innovative digital credential ecosystem and look forward to continued collaboration with ARUCC, which aligns with our mission to support students and educational institutions through improved processes and greater transparency for applicants and institutions.”
The ARUCC MyCreds|MesCertif network continues to grow and evolve, driven by the shared vision of its members to create a more connected and efficient credentialing environment based on learner consent. Working with ApplyAlberta is a testament to the power of collaboration in achieving these goals and advancing digital credentials across Canada.
