University of Guelph Open Learning and Educational Support (OpenEd) partners with ARUCC MyCreds™ to issue digital credentials.

Effective today, University of Guelph OpenEd joins MyCreds™, the National Network and credential wallet developed and owned by the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC). University of Guelph OpenEd will use MyCreds™ as the secure and official means to issue badges and micro-credentials to learners.
“Digital badging offers students a simplified approach to documenting and sharing their qualifications and skills with current and future employers,” says Michelle Fach, executive director, Open Learning and Educational Support, University of Guelph. “By working with MyCreds™, we have been able to provide our learners with a new strategy for demonstrating their commitment to lifelong learning.”

MyCreds™ is a national, shared service and platform that provides students and graduates access to a secure, online, password protected learner credential wallet. This virtual wallet allows them to view and share their verified and official transcripts, credentials and academic documents in a digitized format on a 24/7 basis – anytime, anywhere. It also enables sharing between organizations with the learner’s permission. Secure, cryptographically signed documents can be sent conveniently and require no further verification.
