Calgary, Alberta – March 31, 2026 – In light of the recent Report of the Auditor General of Canada on International Student Program Reforms, MyCreds® | MesCertif®, Canada’s National Digital Credential Network, reaffirms its commitment to supporting secure, trusted, and efficient document exchange across the post-secondary and government ecosystem.
The report highlights the increasing importance of integrity, verification, and coordination in the international student process, particularly as application volumes and system complexity continue to evolve.
MyCreds, owned by the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC), provides a secure national infrastructure that enables institutions to issue and receive verified, tamper-evident digital documents and share them directly with learners and authorized third parties.
“As the international student ecosystem continues to evolve, ensuring trust in documents and data is essential,” said Jodi Tavares, Executive Director, MyCreds ® | MesCertif®.
“Canada already has a strong foundation in place through its institutions and partners. MyCreds is part of that foundation, and we are ready to support efforts that strengthen integrity and streamline trusted document exchange.”
Today, institutions across Canada use MyCreds to issue official documents, including transcripts, credentials, and Letters of Acceptance. In addition, some provincial governments are leveraging the network to deliver Provincial Attestation Letters (PALs), and institutions are using MyCreds to securely share documents with applicants.
By enabling documents to be issued and shared in a verified, digital format, MyCreds helps:
- Preserve the integrity of documents from source to destination
- Reduce reliance on manual document handling and re-submission
- Support secure and trusted exchange between institutions, learners, and partners
MyCreds has also made available secure document receive capabilities to support trusted, direct exchange between institutions and government partners, and would welcome the opportunity to further leverage existing infrastructure to support the International Student Program as it continues to evolve.
As governments, institutions, and stakeholders continue to strengthen the international student system, MyCreds stands ready to collaborate and support a more connected, secure, and trusted ecosystem.
