NAIT joins MyCreds™, a national document exchange network to issue official transcripts

MyCreds™ will allow NAIT alumni and students to access and share their official transcripts digitally with other colleges and universities, government, employers and third parties. NAIT is among 15 Canadian post-secondary institutions, including the University of Alberta, SAIT and Bow Valley College, that have joined MyCreds™. Through the document exchange platform, NAIT can also receive digital documents, quickly and securely, from learners at other post-secondary institutions around the world.

Increasingly, credential fraud has become a significant issue for employers, post-secondary institutions, government authorities and others who need to validate the documents they receive. Transcripts and other official documents shared through MyCreds™ are tamper-evident and cryptographically signed, ensuring they are authentic and official.

Joining MyCreds™ will reduce the need for in-person requests and help lower wait times associated with issuing hardcopy documents.  In addition to transcripts, NAIT is also exploring issuing other official documents, such as digital credentials in the upcoming months.

“The Alberta Registrars’ Association (ARA) is firmly behind anything we can do together to help learners access jobs and further education quickly and seamlessly,” says Marko Hilgersom, president, Alberta Registrars’ Association. “The association sees the MyCreds™ platform as deeply aligned with goals supporting learner mobility and employment. We are excited to see NAIT join the MyCreds™ National Network and are pleased to say that each of our schools are integrating easily with the platform and launching quickly.”
