OCAD U joins MyCreds™ to offer learners 24/7 access to their digital documents

Starting today, OCAD U officially joins MyCreds™, the National Network and virtual wallet owned by the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC). OCAD U is the oldest and largest comprehensive art, design and digital media university in Canada.
The MyCreds™ platform gives OCAD U learners private online access to their individual records and ensures they hold sovereignty as to where and when their information is shared. Documents issued through MyCreds™ are tamper-evident and can be easily and securely shared with other colleges and universities, employers, government and third parties.

“OCAD U launching MyCreds™ is an exciting moment in our journey to support our students and graduates,” says Ben Peto, University Registrar and Director, Enrolment Services, OCAD University. “Our learners represent a diverse community who need flexible, digitized and portable access to their documents. With MyCreds™, we are pleased to be able to provide a one stop solution for credentials that curates everything in one place and provides full learner agency and control over their documents.”
MyCreds™ will provide many benefits for OCAD U students and staff, including:
- Full autonomy and control: Students have full control over their documents and who their documents are shared with.
- Reduced academic fraud: Documents issued through the network are authentic, tamper-evident and legally valid.
- Improved student services: Processing requests and admission decisions can be done faster with automatic digital service.
- Enhanced student mobility: The ability to exchange academic data digitally and quickly aids faster transfer credit assessments. The process is easier and faster for students with MyCreds™.
- Supports student and alumni career goals: With all official, verified documents available digitally in their credential wallet, students and alumni can prove their educational credentials on the spot to prospective employers, institutions, and others, worldwide.
