The First Nations University of Canada partners with ARUCC, MyCreds™ to provide digital credential wallets

FNUniv is a unique institution of higher learning, specializing in Indigenous education for Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. The University has expanded to serve Indigenous higher education needs nationally. FNUniv is an internationally recognized Centre of global Indigenous knowledge, attracting students and scholars of many different Indigenous backgrounds from across Canada and worldwide. FNUniv recently launched the Indigenous Continuing Education Centre (ICEC) to provide Indigenous-focused, accessible, flexible course offerings for Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners, as individuals, for organizations in the private and public sectors and communities.

Through MyCreds™, students will be able to access and share their academic documents with other colleges and universities, government, employers and third parties securely and conveniently. Documents issued through MyCreds™ are tamper-evident and cryptographically signed, making them authentic and official.

MyCreds™ will provide many benefits for learners at the First Nations University of Canada including:

  • Self-sovereignty and agency over their credentials and who they are shared with
  • 24/7 access and virtual digitized sharing
  • Streamlined service
  • Reduced time in processing requests and the potential of lost documents
  • Reduced academic fraud
  • Enhanced learner mobility via a digital data exchange network
