Recognizing Visionary Leadership and Lasting Impact in Advancing Canada’s Digital Credential Ecosystem

Calgary, AB — June 19, 2026 —

MyCreds, Canada’s national digital credential network, is proud to announce that Charmaine Hack, Vice President, Partnerships, Enrolment and External Relations at Centennial College, has been named the recipient of the 2026 MyCreds Trailblazer Award.

This prestigious award recognizes individuals who exemplify innovation, leadership, resilience, and transformative impact within the MyCreds ecosystem and Canada’s broader learner mobility landscape.

Charmaine Hack is being recognized for her foundational leadership and visionary role in enabling the creation of the MyCreds National Network during its earliest stages of development. At a time when the concept of a shared, pan-Canadian digital credential network was still unproven, Charmaine demonstrated exceptional foresight, courage, and commitment in advancing what would become a foundational innovation in Canadian post-secondary education.

As Chair, and later Past Chair, of the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC), Charmaine played a pivotal role in guiding the organization through the decision to pursue the development of MyCreds, through its implementation and its earliest years of becoming established. Her leadership helped establish the confidence, alignment, and sector-wide collaboration needed to move forward with a national solution that now supports institutions and learners across Canada.

Working alongside sector leaders and partners, Charmaine championed the early concept and the development of MyCreds to secure institutional, government and allied organization engagement, funding and momentum for the initiative, and its fiduciary, legal, and organizational project framework. Her leadership created the conditions necessary for MyCreds to evolve from a bold vision into Canada’s trusted national digital credential network.

“I am deeply honoured to receive the 2026 MyCreds Trailblazer Award. MyCreds began as a bold, collaborative vision for transforming how learners are empowered to access and share their achievements, and it has been inspiring to see that vision become a trusted national network,” said Charmaine Hack, Vice President, Partnerships, Enrolment and External Relations at Centennial College. “This recognition reflects the collective leadership, partnership, and unwavering commitment of many across Canada’s post-secondary sector who continue to advance learner mobility and innovation.”

The MyCreds Trailblazer Award recognizes individuals who drive innovation, overcome challenges, foster collaboration, and create meaningful, lasting impact within the digital credential ecosystem. Recipients demonstrate leadership through problem-solving, sector advancement, and a commitment to improving learner mobility and credential portability.

“Charmaine Hack’s leadership reflects the very essence of a trailblazer,” said Jodi Tavares, Executive Director, MyCreds® | MesCertif®. “Her vision, strategic leadership, and unwavering support during the formative stages of MyCreds helped lay the foundation for what has become critical national infrastructure supporting trusted digital credential exchange and learner mobility across Canada.”

The 2026 evaluation committee further recognized Charmaine’s contributions as having enduring, system-level impact and sector-shaping influence beyond institutional boundaries. Her work continues to support innovation, interoperability, and collaboration across Canada’s post-secondary ecosystem.
