Five is a Vibe: MyCreds Celebrates Turning 5

Calgary, Alberta – December 4, 2025 – MyCreds® | MesCertif®, Canada’s National Network for secure, portable, and verifiable digital academic credentials, is celebrating its fifth anniversary — marking five years of empowering learners and transforming credential mobility across Canada and beyond.

Launched in 2020 by the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC), MyCreds was created through visionary collaboration among post-secondary institutions to give learners full control over their academic and professional achievements. Today, the platform has become a trusted, national standard for verified digital credentials.

In just five years, MyCreds has achieved remarkable growth and impact:

  • 174 institutions and organizations are part of the MyCreds Network.
  • 73% of Canada’s publicly funded colleges, universities, and institutes are active on the platform.
  • 4 million documents have been securely issued through the platform.
  • 1.7 million learners have activated their MyCreds accounts.
  • 87,000 digital badges have been issued, highlighting achievements beyond traditional transcripts and diplomas.

“Collaboration is what brought MyCreds to life, and it continues to shape everything we do,” said Norma Rodenburg, MyCreds Board Director, ARUCC Board of Directors; Vice-Provost & University Registrar, University of Alberta. “This milestone reflects a shared vision for learner mobility across Canada. Together, we’ve built a system that not only enhances credentialing but also empowers learners to leverage their achievements with confidence.”

As a learner-first initiative, MyCreds has redefined how verified digital credentials are shared, providing a trusted digital platform that supports education, employment, and licensing opportunities around the world. The network’s growth reflects a strong national commitment to interoperability, innovation, and learner empowerment.

“It’s our members’ dedication and foresight that have shaped MyCreds into a national platform,” added Rodenburg. “As we celebrate five years, we honour our collective progress and commit to the next chapter of innovation, collaboration, and learner success.”

To commemorate this milestone, MyCreds is marking its birthday with recognition of the network’s significant growth. As of January 2026, Issuing organizations will receive complimentary Integrated Receiving. Existing Issuing organizations that already have Integrated Receive? We’ll be in touch for a quick update. It’s our way of celebrating five years of collaboration, innovation, and shared achievements — and of saying thank you for helping build a truly national and international digital credential ecosystem.
