Centennial College joins MyCreds™ to offer digital transcripts and credentials
27 September, 2021
“Joining the MyCreds™ platform supports Centennial’s commitment to the ongoing modernization of our learners’ academic and career development, through verified credentials,” says Centennial’s Registrar, Lisa White. “MyCreds™ revolutionizes how our students – past and present – access their transcripts and credentials and share their academic achievements with other academic institutions and employers anytime – from anywhere in the world.”
With Centennial typically issuing more than 37,000 paper transcripts annually, MyCreds™ offers the College’s 35,000+ students and 200,000 alumni a state-of-the-art alternative to paper transcripts, giving them full control of how and when they share their credentials with employers, government, institutions and other third parties.
“MyCreds™ digital academic document sharing is another exciting example of Centennial’s students-first approach,” adds Niccardo Rhoden, Director of Business Operations, Systems & Scheduling. “The College has already significantly modernized our digital learning environment over the past year, launching 50 fully-online programs and delivering all services and supports virtually. Now we can give our students and graduates secure access to their transcripts and credentials digitally, with the ability to share them instantaneously around the world.”
Ontario is leading the way in the adoption of MyCreds™ among colleges, universities and polytechnics, positioning the province at the centre of innovation and ground-breaking technology. Centennial joins a network of early adopters in the province including Seneca College, Lambton College, Georgian College, York University, Ryerson University and Western University, in addition to many more institutions in various stages of active onboarding.
“We are pleased to see so many Ontario colleges and universities joining MyCreds™,” says Yvette Munro, Executive Director, Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer (ONCAT). “Over the past several years, ONCAT has seen the value that MyCreds™ provides for postsecondary institutions and transfer students. ARUCC’s innovative and comprehensive approach fosters seamless transfer and a way for our system to share transcripts and course information through virtual wallets and trusted exchange networks.”
MyCreds™ is a national, shared service and platform that provides students and graduates access to a secure, online, password protected learner credential wallet. This virtual wallet allows them to view and share their verified and official transcripts, credentials, and academic documents in a digitized format on a 24/7 basis – anytime, anywhere. It also enables sharing between organizations with the learner’s permission. Secure, cryptographically signed documents can be sent conveniently and require no further verification. MyCreds™ is the first and only national bilingual system of its kind in Canada. Visit www.mycreds.ca for more details or contact ARUCC’s Executive Lead, Joanne Duklas at email@example.com.
